Building Compliance Consulting: How It Works

Getting started doesn't need to be complicated. Whether you've received a Building Notice and require building notice assistance, have been asked for a Report & Consent, or simply want to understand your compliance obligations, we'll help you identify the appropriate compliance pathway and explain the next steps, including a preliminary compliance review.

Step 1

Tell us about your project.

Share your plans, drawings, council correspondence, Building Notice, or simply describe your situation.

You don't need to worry about which approvals apply or what the compliance pathway involves—that's what we're here to help with. Our building notice assistance is designed to make the process easier for you.

Helpful information includes:

- Plans or drawings

- Council or building surveyor correspondence

- Building Notices or other notices

- Photos (where relevant)

If you're looking for a preliminary compliance review, we will guide you every step of the way.

Step 2

We conduct a preliminary compliance review of your project to identify the most appropriate compliance pathway. We examine the information you've provided to determine if your project may require: building notice assistance, Report & Consent, FRV Report & Consent, a Performance Solution, a Building Appeals Board application, or other compliance documentation. You will receive practical guidance detailing the likely compliance pathway and recommended next steps.

Step 3

If you choose to proceed, we provide building notice assistance by preparing the required documentation and coordinating the application process. Where specialist input is necessary, such as for engineering or architectural documentation, we can facilitate those services as part of your project. Additionally, we offer a preliminary compliance review to ensure everything aligns with your compliance pathway. Throughout the process, we keep you informed so you understand what has been completed and what steps come next.

Step 4

You move forward with confidence as you prepare the necessary documentation and establish your compliance pathway clearly. This allows you to be in a stronger position to progress your project with the help of building notice assistance and a thorough preliminary compliance review.

Important to know:

We are not the Relevant Building Surveyor. We do not issue building permits or make statutory decisions. Final decisions remain the responsibility of the relevant authority or appointed building surveyor.

Frequently asked

How long does the process take? Every project is different. The timeframes for building notice assistance depend on the complexity of your project, the documentation required, and the assessment timeframes of the relevant authority. We will also conduct a preliminary compliance review to better understand your needs. Once we've reviewed your project, we'll provide an indication of the expected next steps and likely timeframes along the compliance pathway.
